Acceptance of Terms & Scope of Agreement
By visiting, browsing, or utilizing any client-side tool provided on SlowPDF (slowpdf.in), you enter into a legally binding agreement to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable local, national, and international laws.
If you do not agree with every provision set forth in this document, you must cease using SlowPDF immediately. Your continued use constitutes irrevocable acceptance of these terms.
Strict "As-Is" & "As-Available" Disclaimers
SlowPDF is an independent, non-commercial software initiative provided strictly on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties, guarantees, or conditions of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied.
Exclusion of All Statutory Warranties:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SlowPDF and its maintainers expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
- Warranties that PDF manipulations will be 100% bug-free, lossless, or mathematically exact.
- Warranties of uninterrupted service, server uptime, or browser compatibility.
- Warranties that output documents will conform to specific government or court submission standards.
Data Loss, Browser Limitations & User Backup Duty
Because all file parsing, splitting, merging, conversion, and rendering takes place directly inside your computer or smartphone's web browser memory (RAM), execution stability is governed strictly by your personal hardware, operating system, and browser engine.
MANDATORY USER BACKUP REQUIREMENT:
YOU MUST ALWAYS MAINTAIN AN ORIGINAL, UNMODIFIED BACKUP COPY OF YOUR DOCUMENT ON YOUR HARD DRIVE OR SECURE STORAGE PRIOR TO USING ANY SLOWPDF TOOL.
If your web browser crashes due to an out-of-memory error (e.g. attempting to rasterize a 500MB scan on a device with low RAM), if your battery dies, if an operating system freeze occurs, or if a corrupt PDF byte stream causes a download failure, THE RESPONSIBILITY LIES SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVELY WITH THE USER. SlowPDF and its creators accept ZERO legal, financial, or technical liability for lost, corrupted, damaged, or unrecoverable documents.
Technical Realities of In-Browser PDF Processing:
Users must understand the physical constraints of client-side JavaScript execution:
- Standard mobile web browsers limit single-tab RAM usage to 1.5GB – 2GB. Attempting to merge dozens of high-DPI scans can trigger silent browser tab terminations.
- Damaged, malformed, or proprietary non-standard PDF formats created by old printers may not deserialize correctly in open-source parsers.
- SlowPDF cannot restore or undo an operation once a browser tab is closed because we hold zero file records.
100% Intellectual Property & Document Ownership
We believe that your thoughts, homework, research, and contracts belong exclusively to you.
You Retain Absolute Ownership: You retain full, complete, and unencumbered copyright, patent rights, trade secret protections, and intellectual property ownership over all PDF documents, images, text selections, and data files processed using SlowPDF.
No Implied License Granted: SlowPDF does not claim, demand, or acquire any license, sublicense, viewing right, training right, or commercial exploitation right over your content. Because files are processed in your local RAM and never uploaded to our infrastructure, we do not possess the technical capability to view or store your files.
Permitted Use & Strictly Prohibited Conduct
SlowPDF is provided for personal, academic, professional, and commercial productivity. You are free to use our tools to sign invoices, compress homework, edit research papers, and organize client contracts.
You Expressly Agree NOT To:
- Deploy automated scrapers, headless scrapers, or bot swarms against SlowPDF's web infrastructure to artificially inflate server bandwidth.
- Attempt to inject malicious payloads, cross-site scripting (XSS) vectors, or buffer overflow exploits into our client-side parsing libraries.
- Frame, mirror, or repackage SlowPDF inside commercial iframe paywalls or deceive third parties into paying for our free tools.
- Impersonate SlowPDF, our creators, or our tortoise mascot in fraudulent email phishing or payment solicitation schemes.

Total Limitation of Liability & Maximum Damage Cap
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW:
IN NO EVENT SHALL SLOWPDF, ITS INDEPENDENT DEVELOPERS, CONTRIBUTORS, AFFILIATES, OR HOSTING PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF BUSINESS, LOSS OF DATA, GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE, OR SYSTEM MALFUNCTION) ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE TOOLS.
OUR AGGREGATE CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER SHALL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO ZERO DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($0.00 USD), REFLECTING THE ENTIRELY FREE AND UNCOMPENSATED NATURE OF THIS SERVICE.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SlowPDF, its individual maintainers, and contributors from and against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or legal expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from: (a) your breach of these Terms of Service, (b) your violation of any third-party intellectual property rights contained within files processed through your local browser, or (c) your misuse of the service.
Governing Law, Severability & Entire Agreement
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is deemed unlawful, void, or unenforceable by an arbitrator or court of competent jurisdiction, that specific provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
Entire Agreement: These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the complete and exclusive understanding between you and SlowPDF regarding the use of our web application.
